Film Review: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Hit a Home Run Once Again With ‘Sisters’

Dynamic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kick off the Christmas movie season with their new film “Sisters.”

Sisters follows Maura and Kate Ellis, as they say goodbye to their childhood home. For their final night in the house, they decide to through a rager with all of their high school friends, and things go awry. Starring alongside of Fey and Poehler, is a group of incredibly talented comedians, including Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, Rachel Dratch and Bobby Moynihan. Even John Cena, who has been making appearances in films over the past few months, plays a drug dealer, who ends up stealing majority of the film.

For those who have seen Baby Mama, the 2008 Fey/Poehler film, Sisters is the perfect partner. Unlike their 2008 film, where Fey plays the put together adult and Poehler portrays a middle-aged ‘child’, Sisters has the actresses switch roles, allowing the audience to see the many sides of the performers. Directed by Jason Moore, who is also known for his work on Pitch Perfect, Sisters’ heart, humor and reality of the film come out so beautifully, that the audience leaves thinking of their own life, in relation to the film.

Sisters opens nationwide on December 18
