Rising DC–based artist Chaz French released his new mixtape, These Things Take Time. The 14-track project features recently released singles “Remember”, “IDK”and the latest –“Ready”via 368 Music Group (CCCLXVIII).
Chaz French describes himself as a survivor having experienced an almost fatal car accident and homelessness which is the inspiration for his music. 
Along with the mixtape release, French drops the visual to his virally buzzing single “Remember.” These Things Take Time was brought to life through a two-part series (Part 1 / Part 2) of independently directed trailers.
These trailers peak into the essence of Chaz French and expose the rapper as not just lyrical, but progressive, transparent and in position to transcend boundaries within music culture. These Things Take Time is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play as well as Spotify and Audiomack streaming.
Transparent and often unapologetic about his past, Chaz French’s lyrics to his vibey music are inspired by his own life experiences. He delivers his art in its purest form and people have gravitated to his honest lyrics throughout his career.
These Things Take Time acts as the follow up to French’s buzzed-about 2014 Mixtape Happy Belated. As well as a handful of singles released including “No Shade” Ft. Wale , “A Go!” and “What Ya Say” premiered on The FADER.
“My first project (Happy Belated) was about my personal struggles and things I’ve been through. This time around I wanted to speak to the struggles of my fans and people who stumble across my music by addressing the struggles I feel like we all go through,” says Chaz French. “Everybody has some type of struggle and that’s what’s shapes us as people. We gain strength as we endure the struggle. Just know that the struggle isn’t forever and it takes a little longer to get there when it’s real. All of our blessings are coming… These Things Take Time.”
Chaz’s summer festival run included Electric Forest, Hopscotch, JMBLYA, Trillectro, and Fashion Meets Music Festival. French has started the year strong on tour legs with Wale, GoldLink, and SBTRKT – also playing some of the biggest stages at SXSW.
