On Sept. 25, The Knockturnal was on the scene for the New York premiere of “Roger Waters The Wall.”
The documentary was a music filled explosion of stage performances from 2009 until 2013. Fans will get a glimpse into Roger’s creative process. You will see him performing on stage as well as learn about his life outside of music. You also get to see him at home. The film showed the two biggest parts of Roger’s life: his family and his music. He included all three of his children in the film as they visited and payed respect to Roger’s father and grandfather. They were both killed in combat before their sons were able to speak. It is indeed an anti-war film with some sensitive and disturbing images from combat. The film also features some amazing shots from Roger’s best performances over the last few years. The film was extremely loud and incredibly moving, all the while expressing Roger’s passion for life.
Roger Waters is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. In 1965, he co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd with drummer Nick Mason, keyboardist Richard Wright and guitarist, singer, and songwriter Syd Barrett. Waters initially served as the group’s bassist, but following the departure of Barrett in 1968, he also became their lyricist, conceptual leader and co-lead vocalist.
