Discover Two of STILE Downtown Los Angeles’ Must-Visit Culinary Pop-Ups, OKDONGSIK, & Lefty Gelateria

Downtown Los Angeles just got tastier. STILE Downtown Los Angeles, already known for its sleek design and chic crowd, is now home to two must-visit culinary pop-ups running through December—and they’re drawing in food lovers for all the right reasons.

First, head upstairs to OKDONGSIK, a Korean pop-up delivering authentic, comforting dishes with technique and heart. The star of the menu? Dweji Gomtang, a traditional pork soup that’s as soothing as it is deeply flavorful. The clear, clean broth is made by slow simmering pork shoulders with green onions, radish, garlic, ginger, onions, and peppercorns until it reaches a delicate balance that’s rich but never heavy. The rice, gently bathed in the broth several times, adds another layer of warmth. Pair it with their signature gochu ji—a house-fermented pepper paste specifically crafted to complement pork. Just a dab on the meat sends the flavor experience soaring. Also not to be missed is the haemul-wanja, a plump, meaty seafood cake lightly seasoned with soy sauce that hits the perfect savory note. And to wash it all down? Their non-alcoholic Korean plum drink, Maesil Ade, is as refreshing as it is nostalgic, with a tangy-sweet finish that rounds out the meal. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality, and the service is warm, attentive, and welcoming, making this pop-up feel like a cozy Korean home away from home.

After your savory escape, descend into dessert heaven at Lefty Gelateria, a pop-up led by acclaimed Chef Suyoung Park, who trained in South Korea and later moved to the U.S. to take over the head chef position at Jungsik in New York City. With a reputation for blending classic European techniques with bold flavor experimentation, Chef Park is turning gelato into high art. The menu boasts unique flavors like Kyoto matcha, date & pecan, raspberry, mandarin, mint chocolate, and coffee, but the real showstopper is the Very Berry Sundae. This meticulously layered dessert is made with fresh strawberries, vanilla gelato, tart raspberry sorbet, silky lemon custard, butter sable crumbs, and roasted almonds. It’s a flavor-and-texture explosion that’s equal parts elegant and indulgent.
