Spring is here, and despite everything happening in the world, I’ve made it a point to find light—and amplify it.

Monday night in New York City, that light came in the form of the 2nd Annual Jazz Chisholm Foundation Fashion Show, hosted by MLB All-Star and New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. It was an inspiring night that reminded everyone what’s possible when purpose, fashion, and community come together.

This is the kind of story that doesn’t always get the headlines—until they invited me out. So let me tell you about last night.

Fashion, Sports, and Philanthropy Collide

Held on Monday, May 19, the event brought together a dynamic crowd of athletes, musicians, and media personalities, all united for a shared mission: supporting underserved youth and families in New York, Florida, and the Bahamas through the Jazz Chisholm Jr. Foundation.

Guests were treated to a fashion show with a unique twist: celebrity tunnel walk-style runway looks, where players showed off their signature fits and custom sneakers—redefining the traditional sports gala vibe with swagger and intention.

A Star-Studded Guest List

Notable attendees included:

  • Gerrit Cole, Cody Bellinger, and J.C. Escarra of the Yankees
  • Corey Seager (Texas Rangers)
  • Jamien Sherwood (New York Jets)
  • Nick Gordon and Lucius “Legendlu” Fox (MLB players)
  • Media and music personalities like Siera Santos (MLB Network), Ivy Rivera (DJ), Yaisel LM (Latin artist), Lord Sko, and Niko Brim.

Luxury for a Cause: Auction Highlights

The evening’s live auction was a standout, offering up luxury items like:

  • A 2024 Rolex Datejust 41mm Jubilee Stainless Steel men’s watch
  • A Hermès HAC A Dos PM Backpack in Black Togo leather with palladium hardware
  • A 3L bottle of Ace of Spades Brut Gold Champagne, signed by the entire Yankees team

Though former MLB star Robinson Canó couldn’t attend, he placed the winning bid on the champagne—showing love for the cause from afar.

Laughter, Connection, and Legacy

In a candid moment, I found myself laughing with Jamien Sherwood, who modeled during the fashion show. He’s quick on the field, but during the auction, he got outbid. I said, “Man, they don’t see your hand up there!” and we shared a laugh. These were the kinds of moments that made the night so special—genuine, grounded, and community-rooted.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.: Giving Back With Style

Jazz’s journey—from the Bahamas to Yankee Stadium—is already one worth celebrating. But what’s even more powerful is how connected he remains to his roots and his desire to build opportunities for the youth who need it most.

The event raised nearly $200,000, furthering the Foundation’s mission to empower future athletes, leaders, and visionaries through sports, education, and community engagement. This wasn’t just a flashy night out—it was about using the spotlight for something greater.

And of course, it was done in style. Roc Nation, long known for their commitment to community outreach, supported the event—fusing culture and philanthropy seamlessly.

Final Thoughts

It’s easy to get caught in the chaos of the world, but nights like these remind us of the beauty in coming together, showing up, and giving back. Jazz Chisholm Jr. deserves his flowers—not just for his athletic achievements, but for being the kind of leader we need more of.
