The iconic Swiffer Sweeper just got its most significant upgrade in 25 years.
On March 19, Swiffer hosted an open house, giving guests a first look into the Swiffer Sweep + Mop Deluxe. The new product is the company’s first collapsable sweeping product and is 50 percent more durable than its original counterpart, according to a report by Swiffer.
The event featured multiple rooms, inviting guests to use the product in real-life scenarios like sweeping hair from the bathroom or mopping dirt off hardwood floors. The Swiffer Sweep + Mop Deluxe pairs best with the Heavy Duty Dry Sweeping Cloths and Heavy Duty Wet Mopping Cloths, which were also shown in the demonstrations.
Beyond cleaning demonstrations, the open house also treated guests to themed cocktails and bites, even surprising guests with an aura reader who told them what their aura said about their cleaning habits.
Many consumers live in small spaces lacking cleaning storage, according to Swiffer’s consumer research. With this in mind, Swiffer created a collapsible design that allows consumers to easily store the Swiffer Sweep + Mop Deluxe, according to Arianna Castro, a Swiffer scientist.
“You can easily stick [the product] under your kitchen sink or in your bathroom,” Castro said. “It’s also a two-in-one cleaning tool, so you can get rid of your mop, bucket and broom.”
The durable cleaning tool also features a locking head, which can swivel into different positions for a precise clean. Users can lock the head into a 180-degree angle to clean baseboards and tight spaces between furniture.
The Swiffer Sweep + Mop Deluxe’s power is maximized with Swiffer’s new Wet Mopping Cloths. These cloths have a scrubbing strip, providing 75 percent more scrubbing power than Swiffer’s previous mopping pads, according to Castro.
The Swiffer Sweep + Mop Deluxe is available for pre-order and will be available nationwide on April 5.
