The launch of the new “Over the Moon” LEGO immersive experience, co-designed by Pharrell Williams and the LEGO Group, turned a lively corner of Los Angeles into an unforgettable cosmic playground.
Guests were thrilled about immersing themselves in a world of imagination and play, enjoying a vibrant atmosphere filled with music, refreshments, and hands-on activities. A special chat featuring acclaimed filmmaker Morgan Neville and Pharrell added a sprinkle of inspiration, as they shared insights into their creative journeys.
When entering the experience guests are allowed to build their own LEGO minifigures. With tons of options for hair, outfits, and even occupations, guests could craft mini versions of themselves that celebrated their unique styles. Attendees focused their time in creating the perfect version of their mini-selves in celebration of the film.

The creation of ID tags enhanced the personal experience of the event, inviting participants to engage with Pharrell’s vision of self-expression through LEGO. When Pharrell and director Morgan Neville arrived, they shared their inspiring stories about bringing Piece by Piece to life. Pharrell, full of gratitude, thanked everyone who helped make his vision a reality. The Virginia Beach native couldn’t hide his excitement, eager for guests to soak up the unique experience he had crafted.
Pharrell grasping the mic looking into the eyes of the present audience said, “I’m black in case you haven’t figured that out. But they said yes, they said yes. I’m not Batman and this is not a Harry Potter, you know…This is me. I’m from Virginia and they said yes.”
Spending an afternoon in the creative genius that is Pharrell and LEGO was pure magic.
