The Knockturnal sat down with the stars of Blink Twice, Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie, as well as director Zoe Kravitz, to ask about the important message behind the film, working alongside a romantic partner, and more.
Blink Twice is a gripping psychological thriller that pulls audiences into a world where nothing is as it seems. The story centers on Frida, a young woman played by Naomi Ackie, whose life takes a dramatic turn when she crosses paths with Slater King, a charismatic tech billionaire portrayed by Channing Tatum. The two meet at one of Slater’s extravagant fundraising galas, where an undeniable spark between them quickly blossoms into something more.

Intrigued by Frida’s unique charm and down-to-earth nature, Slater invites her to join him and a group of friends on an exclusive vacation to his private island—a paradise known only to the elite.
However, the idyllic setting soon begins to unravel as Frida starts noticing strange occurrences. What initially appeared to be a perfect getaway slowly transforms into a disorienting nightmare. As the days pass, Frida’s sense of reality becomes increasingly distorted, and she finds herself questioning everything around her. The island’s beauty hides a darker, more sinister side, and Frida realizes that the people she thought she could trust might not be who they initially seemed.
Determined to uncover the truth, Frida delves into the island’s secrets, but the deeper she goes, the more perilous her situation becomes. The suspense intensifies as she races against time to figure out what’s real and what’s an illusion. In a place where every blink could alter her fate, Frida must summon all her strength to survive the ultimate test of her sanity.
When asked about her inspiration to make the film, Kravitz responded that it came from a story with an important message.
“I wanted to tell a story about the female experience, and how absurd it is that we are asked to smile through our pain, and to pretend like we don’t remember, and pretend in general like we’re okay when we’re not. I wanted to really try to find a metaphor for that, and let people into that experience.”
Blink Twice is a heart-pounding exploration of trust, fear, and the fragility of the human mind, leaving viewers questioning their perceptions long after the credits roll.
