An Elegant Journey of the Senses W/ Perrier-Jouët Champagne

Chef Sophia Roe hosted a New York City night to remember

On one special June night Perrier-Jouët Champagne took senses on a sensual adventure.

Gathering in the grand hall of 1 Hotel Central Park, guests were treated to a delightful evening of elegance over a grand tasting experience hosted by Chef Sophia Roe. Over an exquisite three course meal, she showcased curated seasonal dishes made in partnership with cellar master Séverine Frerson that included Crudo Toast with local fish and wild herbs, Wild Prawns with black lentils and charred broccolini, as well as a delicate Pavlova with local berries and whipped cream. Each taste embodied the rich history and exquisite nuances of the signature Chardonnay grape of the award-winning Perrier-Jouët Champagnes.

The room bloomed with nature as fresh flowers covering walls and the table to create the feel of an enchanted garden. It was a fairytale come true as pairings were experienced. Only the Maison Perrier-Jouët could design a dreamlike state for the sense such as this moment in time.

“It sings in the glass,” expressed brand ambassador and educator, Elise Cordell, as presented her knowledge to the eager crowd of listeners.

Perrier-Jouët Champagnes’ botanical heritage and commitment to biodiversity was brought to light as guests enjoyed sips of the crisp Belle Epoque 2013, as well the uniquely refreshing Blanc de Blancs. Every expression could only be defined as euphoric, which was appreciated by all in the room.

“My culinary process revolves around nature, it gives life to my food and awakens my senses,” stated the chef. “I’ve proudly created a seasonal menu of pairings in partnership with Perrier-Jouët to bring the iconic Champagne house’s ‘Banquet of Nature’ tasting and sensorial experience to life in New York and Los Angeles.”

Finishing the night with the fantastic Epoque Rose 2013 with dessert, the pops of color and sweet floral smells in the room embraced the attendees and surrounded them with what could only be described as love.
