Get your tequila ready
Cinco de Mayo is upon us and with that, there is no better time to refresh your cocktail menu. And we have some of the easiest and tastiest cocktail recipes here.
The first four cocktails we have in our list are from our friends at Tequila Cazadores. The first one is the Cazadores Avocado Margarita. You might be wondering how the avocado incorporates into the margarita and the answer is that it adds a wonderful creaminess to the drink and adds a light touch of the classic avocado taste to the drink. Definitely a fun and festive drink to make at home.
Cazadores Avocado Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Tequila Cazadores Blanco
- 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz. Agave Syrup
- 1 Quarter of Avocado
- 1 Sprig of Cilantro
- 1 Slice of Roasted Jalapeño
Instructions: Muddle avocado, cilantro and jalapeño in a mixing glass. Add the rest of the ingredients with ice, then shake and serve over the rocks.
The next Cazadores drink is called the Prickly Pear & Agave Margarita. This margarita is a sweeter and more fruit forward margarita that is sure to satiate the sweet tooth within.
Prickly Pear & Agave Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 parts Tequila Cazadores Blanco
- ¼ oz. St. Germain
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 3/4 oz. agave nectar
- 1 oz. Fresh Prickly Pear Puree
- Manny’s Salt Rim
Instructions: In a mixing glass, add all the ingredients with ice, shake and serve on the rocks (salt rim optional).
Garnish with a lime wedge.
The next drink from Cazadores is the Blood Orange Margarita. This margarita has the essence of blood orange in it making it both a sweet and tangy drink that we can’t get enough of. The salt rim takes it over the edge so we highly recommend that as the rim of choice for this drink.
Blood Orange Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Tequila Cazadores Special Edition
- ½ oz. Orange Curacao
- 2 oz. Blood Orange Juice
- 3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz. Agave Nectar
- Manny’s Salt
Instructions: Shake all ingredients and serve over ice with Manny’s salt (salt flavored with guajillo and pasilla chili peppers, hibiscus, sugar and lime).
And lastly, we have a classic jalapeno margarita made with Cazadores. This is a simple cocktail to make but the addition of jalapeno adds a nice heat the the drink that is sure to spice up your Cinco de Mayo.
Jalapeño Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ part Tequila Cazadores Blanco
- ½ part Premium Triple Sec
- ½ part Agave Nectar
- 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 Slice of Jalapeño
Instructions: In a cocktail shaker with ice combine all the ingredients, shake and serve over the rocks in glass.
Garnish: with lime, jalapeño slice and salt optional
Up next is a new drink we were able to try using Betty Buzz. If you’re not familiar with Betty Buzz, it is a sparkling drink mixer that makes cocktail making so much easier. By having this in hand, most of the ingredients and prep are already taken care of. And the bubbles add a bit of flair to the drink too.
First up we have the Betty Buzz Sparkling Margarita made with a bit of tequila, simple syrup, and Betty Buzz. With three simple ingredients, this drink can be made in seconds.
BETTY BUZZ SPARKLING MARGARITA
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Tequila
- 1/2 Bottle Betty Buzz Sparkling Lemon Lime
- 1 oz agave or simple syrup
Instructions: Start with a lowball glass and add ice, tequila, agave, Betty Buzz Sparkling Lemon Lime, and stir together. Garnish with a lime wheel.
The second Betty Buzz drink is the Hot & Spicy Paloma. This drink is also fairly easy to make, using the Betty Buzz Sparkling Grapefruit mixer. This cocktail is the perfect drink to make that is both easy and has a burst of flavor to it.
HOT & SPICY PALOMA
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Bottle Betty Buzz Sparkling Grapefruit
- 1.5 oz Tequila
- Splash of Agave
- Squeeze of Lime Juice
- Tajin Seasoning
Instructions: Rim lowball glass with tajin. Fill halfway with ice. Add lime and agave to shaker. Shake well. Strain into glass and top with Betty Buzz Sparkling Grapefruit. Garnish with Grapefruit.
The next two cocktails are made from one of our favorite tequilas, Patron. The first is a classic margarita that can never fail. And the addition of Patron makes for such a clean and smooth taste to the margarita which everyone can enjoy.
PATRÓN Classic Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- 1 oz Citrónge Orange Liqueur
- .75 oz Fresh lime juice
- 25 oz Simple syrup
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Kosher salt (optional)
Instructions:
Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with a lime wedge. Optionally, salt half the rim of the glass with kosher salt.
The next drink is a paloma drink made with Patron. The tang and tartness form the grapefruit mixed with the sugar and salt rim make for the perfect sip each time. We cannot rave enough about this cocktail and should be made in batches because it will be a fan favorite.
PATRÓN Perfect Paloma
Ingredients:
- 5 oz Patrón Reposado
- 3 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
- .5 oz Agave syrup (1:1)
- .5 oz Fresh-squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz Sparkling water
- Sugar and salt for rimming
- Grapefruit wedge for garnish
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients except sparkling water in a shaker tin and shake with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a sugar and salt rimmed collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
And our last drink on this list is the Grand Margarita which is made with Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge. This drink is a beauty and tastes just as good. And what’s better is that it’s so simple to make too!
Grand Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 part Grand Marnier® Cordon Rouge
- 1 part Tequila
- .5 part Fresh Lime Juice
- Ice cubes
- Lime Garnish
Instructions: Fill a wide, shallow dish with 2-3 mm of fine salt. Cut a lime in half at the width and rub around half of the rim of a margarita glass. Cut a thin, crosswise slice from one of the lime halves for garnish. Holding glass upside down, dip wet half delicately into the salt. Shake Grand Marnier, tequila and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into glass and apply lime garnish to the rim.
