The highly anticipated ‘Escape Room’ sequel ‘Escape Room: Tournament of Champions’ has Logan Miller returning to his role of Ben, Holland Roden joining the cast as Rachel, and Adam Robitel returning to direct.
The first installment in the series was a box office hit that terrified audiences all around the world. The sequel promises to be even scarier, and follows six people who find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, including Miller’s Ben and Roden’s Rachel. The story evolves when the players discover what they must do to survive, and that they have all played the game before.
Both Miller and Roden were excited to bring their characters to life in the film. “It was great to be able to jump in with this creative force again,” Miller said of returning to play Ben. “He becomes a heroic figure by the end of the second film.”
“It was an honor,” Roden said of joining the cast of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. “Logan and Taylor were very, very welcoming to our little torture summer camp.”
As for creating new and scarier escape rooms, director Adam Robitel admitted that “it was super challenging.” The sequel promises to expand on the concepts from the first film, including the evil organization behind the escape rooms. “What’s cool about the sequel is that it expands Minos,” Robitel said. “The evil organization behind the thing is much more powerful than we think.”
See Escape Room: Tournament of Champions only in theaters on July 16.
