Blancore Made Its New York Fashion Week Debut At Spring Studios

The New York-based contemporary brand, Blancore, went from independently retailing worldwide, to the runway of New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

The founder of the fashion brand stated, “Blancore‘s inspiration for SS20 is water — in all its lifeforms.” The fluidity between the textures of the designer’s garments translated quite literally in the opening walk of the show, September 5th at Spring Studios. Unlike traditional NYFW debuts, Blancore opted for a theatrical introduction.

Three performers in white bodysuits appeared through a hazy spotlight, as production created a rippling blue pool of lights in the center of the runway. With the cue of a haunting ethereal melody, the openers began circling one another as the room wholly darkened.

In time, embellished silk dresses, satin headbands, geometric color block skirts, and sharp lapel trench coats made their way towards Getty’s photo pit at the edge of the catwalk. Teardrop dual-length earrings became a statement piece, as well as pointed-toe high heel mules.

Fashion icon, Olivia Palermo, sat front row with Blancore’s CEO, Linfei Deng, donning a beige faux leather trench from the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2019 collection. Ahead of the show, Yalan, creative director of Blancore, explained, “Water can be ubiquitous and ethereal, vanishing without a trace. When becoming mist and cloud, it says, ‘You can reach me, but do not dominate me.’ When becoming a drop of rain or a vast ocean, it says, ‘You can feel me, but do not define me,'” in explanation of her Spring/Summer 2020 collection’s direction.

To date, Blancore’s monthly sales revenue has reached $100k, and the company is now gearing up to open its first-ever multipurpose showroom in lower Manhattan. Additionally, Blancore has inked deals with over 30 showrooms worldwide. “We believe that with the international influence and resources New York Fashion Week offers — Blancore will have exponential growth after our debut here,” explained the brand’s CEO, Linfei.

With a timeline gauged between the next five years, Blancore aims to become a global mainstay in the fashion world. The brand has offices in Milan, and Shanghai, and plans to enter 34 capital cities in China. To add, Blancore will launch in at least 50 new locations on the Chinese mainland.

NYFW confirmed the announcement of more cross-continental Blancore stores opening. This development will include Canada, Japan, South Korea, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Australia. The Blancore founder postured herself to combine American minimalism with elegant French deconstruction for the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. And by applying both these conceits to her design creations, she successfully produced an alluring demonstration of what she refers to as a “second skin” for men and women.
