On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, TAORAY TAORAY premiered their 2020 Spring-Summer collection on the world stage of New York Fashion Week. The high energy runway show, complete with a futuristic-themed laser soundtrack and diverse models, was presented at Spring Studios. Notable guests included Marla Maples and Kimberly Guilfoyle, among many others.
Founder and CEO of TAORAY WANG, Wang Tao, one of China’s most accomplished designers, combines her vision of contemporary fashion with Chinese culture and traditions to create designs for her secondary collection, TAORAY TAORAY.
The birth of TAORAY TAORAY’s Spring Summer collection was inspired by the embroidery from the ancient culture of the Yi, one of Chinese society’s most valued epic minorities. Yi embroidery is full of rich culture and history, as well as exquisite, intricate patterns with pops of bright color.
After studying the Yi craftsmanship, the TAORAY TAORAY design team created the collection with the aim of resurrecting the beauty and value of ancient tradition. Taking the masterful designs, colors, and techniques of the Yi culture, the team melded them with contemporary fashion designs in the form of hoodies, joggers, t-shirts, and other wardrobe-essentials.
The TAORAY TAORAY Spring Summer 2020 collection is a reflection on how Wang Tao is preserving and encouraging people to embrace her culture by reminding them of the beauty within tradition!
