Last week, Kodie Shane & Epic Records celebrated the release of Kodie Shane’s debut album.
Last Tuesday, The Lightbox was lit as the venue hosted Kodie Shane’s Young Heartthrob album release party. In addition to a live performance by Kodie Shane herself, Kodie also unveiled her Red Bull Documentary, Remember The Name: Kodie Shane. From basement to balcony, The Lightbox was decked out in honor of Kodie. Starting from the basement where the open bar and complimentary food greeted guests as they arrived to the lovely stage and projection display on the main floor.
Before performing her debut album, Kodie held an intimate screening of her upcoming Red Bull documentary in which she talks about her musical journey, her experiences and her background. Kodie talks about spending half her time in Chicago and half her time in Atlanta, two places that helped cultivate her sound. Kodie shares her close bond with her mother/manager. Kodie’s musical partner/personal assistant/ engineer and executive producer Matty P. also spoke about how Kodie’s talent grew from writing songs to rapping to singing. However, the most beautiful/vulnerable part of the documentary is when Kodie and her mother describe the challenges Kodie has faced being open and honest about her sexuality in an oversexualized industry. Although faced with challenges, Kodie has no plans of slowing down and is determined to show the world that she was born for this life.
Shortly following the screening, Kodie arrived on stage in a beautiful white, ruffled, silky blouse, black skinny jeans, black boots and hair out and curly. Fans and friends had a chance to listen to the album prior to the party and were singing along as Kodie performed some new fan-favorites. Kodie also just announced her 2019 “Young Heartthrob” headlining world tour. Executively produced by Matty P., Kodie Shane’s Young Heartthrob is out now and features Trippie Redd and TK Kravitz.
