Daddy Yankee has partnered with Deezer, a music streaming service, to support emerging artists with Latin roots.

The Reggaeton artist hand-selected Brytiago, a Puerto Rican trap singer, and songwriter, to receive 12 months of profile development, playlisting, and a year-long part in creative Artist Marketing campaigns with Deezer.

Daddy Yankee, a Latin Grammy Award Winner, has called Brytiago the new wave in Latin music. “He continues to grow as an artist and adapt to different styles of music. His music has the power to connect to a new generation of Latin music fans”.

In early 2018, Brytiago released “Bipolar” with Ozuna and Chris Jeday, which peaked as Number 17 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Deezer Announcement on Brytiago’s Instagram Page, 2018.

Brytiago has expressed his thanks for the selection and Daddy Yankee as a mentor. He referred to the artist as a guiding light, someone who, “always provides honest feedback and advice on my career. He is able to see things that no one else can see, all of which has been invaluable for me and my music.”

The young artist will be joined by other breakout artists including Justin Quilles, Javiera Mena, and Greeicy. Quilles is a Puerto Rican reggaeton singer and songwriter, Mena is a Latin Grammy Nominee and Chilean Indie electro-pop musician, and Greeicy is a Colombian actress and singer-songwriter.

Deezer NEXT global and local artists have seen increases in fans and streams since the program’s launch in 2017. The music streaming service stressed the importance of proving non-English speaking artists can attract international fan-bases in a recent press release. Nearly half of their 2017 Top 10 most streamed artists perform in non-English languages, such as French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
