Kap G is taking over in a big way.
With a spot on the XXL Freshman Cover and billboard hits under his belt, the Atlanta rapper has made it known he’s playing for keeps. The rapper has recently joined forces with AXE, for their “Clear The Air” Campaign, to help “fight the cloud.” We sat down with Kap for exclusive details on his latest partnership, and the inside scoop behind the creation of his latest mixtape “Supahefe”:
On Why He Choose to Join the “Clear The Air Campaign”
“Well first of all, AXE, I’ve been rocking with it since I was little I remember being in the locker room, getting out of PE, you know how it is. But, just working with them I feel like it’s a dope chance for me to be able to collab and just rock with the brand.”
On How Young Boys can “Clear The Air”:
“It’s just simple. No need to overspray.”
On the importance of versatility in his music.
“It’s always important because I feel like if you sound like the next man or sound the same as everyone else then you’re music ain’t gonna really stand out. So that’s why I just really be myself and do that.”
On the creative process between most his visuals:
“Most of the time, I like just letting it come to me because when I sit around and just think about it I don’t get an idea. Like for my cover I was just walking one day around my house and it just popped up in my head.”
On shooting the Sprite Summer Campaign:
“That was dope! It was tiring, but it was real fun. And I got a chance just to kick it and have fun.”
On his inspiration:
“Most of my inspiration comes from just my family, really my family and my loved ones. Just waking up everyday and music, life, music that’s all.”
Touring:
“I’m on tour right now. This is my first headlining tour, I’m excited.”
On What We Can Expect Up Next:
“Next, you can expect new music just finishing this tour, the “Superhefe” tour, but mainly just finishing new music- I can’t wait to put out new music.”
