The Global Spin Awards, honoring the top DJ’s around the world will host its sixth annual awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 15th, 2018 at The Novo Theater.
It was announced that this year’s honorees will include: DJ Khaled, DJ Envy, Marshmello, The ChainSmokers and Funk Flex. Hip Hop producers Timbaland and Jermaine Dupri will also be receiving special awards, Timbaland will receive a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, and Dupri will receive the ‘Breaking Barriers Award.’
“DJs are innovators, continuously changing the industry through their creative sounds and love for music. The Global Spin Awards was created to spotlight the industry and honor these artists.” said Shawn Prez, Founder of the Global Spin Awards. “We are recognizing the top DJs for their achievements and contributions to the music industry and our culture”.
DJ Khaled who is a nominee this year received the Hip Hop DJ of the Year, DJ Album of the Year, DJ of the Year awards, at the 2017 award ceremony earlier this year, while Steve Aoki received EDM DJ of the Year, DJ Clark Kent was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award and Spinderella received the Breaking Barriers award. Rapper/actor T.I. served as host of the 2017 ceremony.
The 2018 Global Spin Awards will air exclusively on REVOLT. Here is the full list of nominees:
