ZUZ Spring Summer Collection Debut

On Tuesday March 13th, at 6pm I had the pleasure of attending the ZUZ Spring Summer collection preview, filled with glitz, glamour and a wine tasting to top everything off. This was my first time viewing Zuz and the collection, so it was quite the treat. This winter has been awfully cold and viewing all the spring dresses, definitely gave my fashion inspiration and hopefulness for a fun and colorful Spring/summer to come!

Tuesday was the firs bit of snow that we’ve had in NYC all winter and as I made my way through the snow to the Zuz Collection location, I was greeted so kindly by Seventh House/ Showroom seven’s team, that escorted me to the tropical paradise that awaited my arrival. When I walked in, my nose was filled of aromas of wine, sunshine, and sweets. Front and center, the presentation was held with about 5-7 models, stunningly dressed from Elf ears to toe in ZUZ. The Elf ears was the first thing that caught my attention, what fairytale did I find myself into? Each model had elf ears matching their skin tone and colorful garment; blue’s pinks’, yellow’s and orange were definitely the star colors of the evening. When going through the collection, each silk slip dress, sequin top, mesh kimono, all had their own unique personality and flare. It was quite an enchanting sight as the models were positioned to look like they were in deed apart of a fairy tribe and garden.

Now, lets get to the clothes. I had the pleasure of interviewing  Zuzanna Kozolwska, founder and owner of the company who is originally born in Poland but following the footsteps of her designer mother Olga, Zuzanna has found her own style of fashion with incorporating her visual art into her fabrics. This is an Australian based company, where Zuzanna grew up and expanded her fashion experience and making her version of the perfect wearable art. Wearable art has been an up and coming trend seen on the runways with Haute couture brand such as Schiaparelli, Ellie Saab, Nadeem Khan, Balmain, who are the OG’s of wearable art. It’s a beautiful concept that allows the audience to have something that is truly one of a kind and special in its own manner. Each piece Zuzanna makes is hand painted and then printed on to the garments. This is close to home for Zuzanna with her wearable art and becoming close to the consumer for the perfect interpersonal relationship and exchange of goods.

Congratulations to ZUZ and a phenomenal presentation, I got inspired for my Spring/Summer outfits coming up. ZUZ is a brand with a deep background of fashion, family and history. I look forward to what’s to come for ZUZ as I will be on the constant lookout for new pieces to add to my wordrobe
