YouTube Originals today announced the sure-to-be-heartwarming ‘I Promise,’ an in-depth look at Lebron James’ pioneering school in his hometown Akron, Ohio.
The I Promise School opened in 2018 and boasts a curriculum that focuses on both STEM fundamentals and emotional learning, helping kids to heal the wounds that come from growing up in one of America’s toughest cities while sharpening the building blocks of Science and Math.
These kids are some of the state’s lowest performers, yet the trailer shows their vibrant spirits and uninhibited ambition. They’re nervous but motivated, talented and full of potential.
Helmed by award-winning director Marc Levin and co-produced by Lebron James, Maverick Carter and a slew of power players, the love bursts from the screen in the trailer. I’m already so invested in how this turns out, can’t wait to watch.
