Jenn Tran is no stranger to transformation. From making history as the first Asian American Bachelorette to commanding the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars, she’s now stepping into yet another exciting chapter — this time, in the vibrant city of Miami. And she’s doing it all with a can of -196 Vodka Seltzer in hand.
If you haven’t heard of -196 yet, get ready. Suntory Global Spirits #1 Japanese Vodka Seltzer, now making its U.S. debut courtesy of Suntory Global Spirits. What sets it apart? A process as bold as its flavor. Using a technique called Freeze, Crush, Infuse (FCI), -196 freezes whole fruit at an icy -196°C, crushes it, and infuses it directly into premium vodka. The result? A seltzer that actually tastes like the fruit — juicy, vibrant, and refreshingly authentic.
Jenn sat down with us to talk about her bold new beginnings, the power of vulnerability, and why -196 feels like more than just a brand partnership — it’s a vibe.
You’re stepping into an exciting new chapter in Miami — what drew you to the city, and how does it feel to plant roots here?
“Who doesn’t love a good beach! I actually came down here for Physician Assistant school. It’s a diverse, vibrant city with something always going on, and it just felt right to plant temporary roots here. I’ve enjoyed exploring while pursuing my master’s — it’s been a really energizing transition.”
Your partnership with -196 is all about bold flavor and energy — how does that vibe reflect where you are in life right now?
“Honestly, it’s such a natural fit. Right now, I’m all about doing things that feel authentic, fun, and a little unexpected — and that’s exactly what -196 Vodka Seltzer is. It’s bold, full of flavor, and not afraid to stand out. I’ve been embracing innovation and experimentation, so this partnership just makes sense. The flavor feels real because it is real — made from whole fruit!”
As the first anniversary of your Bachelorette season approaches, what reflections or lessons stand out the most?
“My season taught me a lot about vulnerability. I had to really dig deep and think about what makes me me. It meant sharing parts of myself I’d never shared before, which turned out to be incredibly freeing. Vulnerability is strength, and sometimes the boldest choice is just being honest.”
From reality TV to brand collabs to a fresh start in Miami — how are you staying grounded through all these changes?
“I take things one step at a time and stay close to the people who truly know me. Whether it’s journaling, working out, or watching a Miami sunset, those little moments keep me centered. I’m also really intentional about the projects I take on. -196 clicked with me instantly — it’s fun, bold, and full of flavor. It brings the same energy I’m leaning into in this new chapter.”
Alix Earle was just announced as part of the new DWTS cast — any advice from one Miami girl to another?
“I’m SO excited for Alix! She’s going to crush it. My advice? Embrace every second — the highs, the lows, all of it. Dancing with the Stars was one of the best experiences of my life. And don’t forget to recharge! A little Miami beach day or karaoke night with a -196 Strawberry in hand works wonders.”
What has surprised you most about life after The Bachelorette — either personally or professionally?
“Honestly? The connections. I’ve met so many people who see themselves in my story — whether through DMs, events, or collabs like this one with -196. I didn’t expect to feel so supported. It’s been a beautiful surprise.”
With summer heating up in Miami, what’s your go-to way to unwind — and does it involve a can of -196?
“Absolutely! I love a beach day or rooftop night with friends. Good music, good vibes, and a cold -196 in hand. I’ve been obsessed with the Strawberry flavor lately — it’s juicy, refreshing, and actually tastes like real fruit. The FCI process makes such a difference — you can taste the authenticity.”
What excited you most about teaming up with -196, and what does the brand represent to you?
“The intentionality. -196 isn’t just another seltzer — it’s crafted with care, rooted in Japanese innovation, and it stands out. I’m in a place where I’m embracing change and seeking authenticity, and this brand reflects that energy. Plus, celebrating the launch with karaoke in Miami? Iconic.”
How does -196 fit into your lifestyle, especially in a vibrant city like Miami?
“Miami is about big energy, bold flavors, and living your best life — that’s -196 in a can. Whether it’s beach days, girls’ nights, or spontaneous karaoke parties, -196 fits right in. Every flavor — Strawberry, Grapefruit, Lemon, Peach — is bursting with real fruit taste. It’s effortless and elevated.”
In what ways does this partnership allow you to express yourself or connect with your audience in a fresh way?
“It’s been so refreshing to partner with a brand that reflects the real me, not just the version you see on TV. People are craving realness and flavor in their lives, and -196 is both. It’s playful, bold, and a fun way to connect over a great drink and a good time.”
