White Boiz Drop Visuals for G.U.N.

We experience Hip Hop in a time where we chase originality like a desert caravan scanning the horizon for oasis.

To see a duo come through and be so effortlessly unique may seem like a mirage at first glance, but I can say with certainty that White Boiz are no illusion. Their steez is impressively both clean and grimy. Look at the production offered on this track, “G.U.N.”. It’s as funky as it is menacing. It sounds like it was built to carry the weight of a track featuring a basic emcee, but Krondon is anything but basic. His flow is monotone, but carries a power in it’s consistency. Much like Guru, Krondon grabs the listener with a Diddy-esque choke hold and feeds them incredibly artistic yet earthy bars.

What Shafiq does for Krondon as a producer is not unlike the perfect backdrops Ant creates for Slug. There’s a serious understanding between emcee and producer what needs to be conveyed on each song, and “G.U.N.” is a perfect example of that idea.

Most importantly, White Boiz come forward with the intention to challenge their listeners’ beliefs. Playing on the perspective of their audience from their very name “White Boiz”, the duo seems to want us to understand what has made us think the way we do. It’s an interesting message that’s very left field of what people consider conscious rap, especially because they’re raising questions rather than telling you what to do.
