Wednesday night, nightlife guru Wass Stevens and his crew “Dirty Old Gangsters” gave the first live premiere of their new music video “Not Tonight Bro”, featuring Steven’s signature rejection phrase while on duty as a doorman.
Headed by Stevens’ and composed of members Alex Valenti, JJ Sansaverino, Ricky Tepperberg, and Mike Severing, DOG brings a lively, punk rock sound to the table, by keeping the subject light featuring many songs written about Stevens’ personal experiences as a doorman and motorcycle aficionado. Hosted at Goldbar, the event featured drinks by Casadores tequila and ‘80s rock music to pump up the crowd for the band’s live set. With walls covered in gold skulls reminiscent of the Parisian catacombs and silver tables engraved to represent staked Cartier “Love” bracelets, the venue perfectly complimented the band’s aesthetic. The vibe given off by Stevens is one with plenty of character. With his long “fu manchu” style beard and his fervor for motorcycles one can only define his panache as refined ruggedness. For their performance, DKNY provided Dirty Old Gangsters with a custom fit, designing leather jackets and vests with DOG’s own logo.
