Warner Bros. Hosts ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Art Show Bottleneck Gallery

On Friday, March 3rd in Brooklyn New York, the Bottleneck Gallery  joined forces with Warner Bros. and the Legendary art series to celebrate the return of King Kong! This pop up art gallery, called “Tribe of Kong” exhibited Kong: Skull Island poster art.

Bitter cold winds did not stop the ape admirers from coming out and paying homage to the tragic beast’s return to the big screen. This lofty art gallery was the perfect place to exhibit this overwhelming creature. It was well lit, with an open bar, and endless yummy hors d’oeuvres. The space screamed high end and humble, while posters hung like ornaments as the terrifying ape loomed over the room. One side of the room held conceptual art from the new movie, by the Legendary production team. In addition to some billboards released overseas by Poster Spy. The other half of the room consisted of curator group Poster Posse’s collection and a group of posters from Bottleneck’s hand picked collection.

Out of all of the amazing  posters, four stood out. A poster by Andrew Swainson with a profile shot of Kong, with three helicopters, setting fire to a forest, transposed within his silhouette. And Karl Fitzgerald’s set of three, illustrating the calm, quiet, and rage filled sides of the King. My favorite by Karl was was a stoic King in the midst of obliterated monster remains. Despite the absence of the illustrators, this exhibit was a delicious hit! As of March 3rd the entire collection will be available at Bottleneckgallery.com followed by the film unleashing, in theaters March 10, 2017.
