Unexpected Makeup Applications Ruled At Esteban Cortazar’s NYFW 2018 Presentation

At Esteban Cortazar’s presentation beauty looks were inspired by natural looks and simplicity.

At his annual NYFW presentation Esteban Cortazar once again collaborated with lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux.

Sponsored by MAC Cosmetics, this year’s looks focused on minimalism. Tom Pecheux created a look inspired by a nomad woman, a traveler who gathers dust through her journeys. Using crushed matte eyeshadow and a fluid mixing solution, Pecheux applied the looks by scrubbing two brushes against each other, created a unique pattern on each model’s face. The foundation consisted of moisturizer and light concealer.

[Esteban Cortazar] is almost like a nomad, fashion nomad. And that is what his women are. They bring a better style, a better sense of aesthetic and they learn from every culture. And that’s why his fashion is so special and unique with a clear point of view. With this makeup we wanted to create something that had nothing to do with a normal makeup application, but something more open-minded. What can we do and how can we play? You know when you are a traveler, backpack traveler, you bring back the dust, the truth, the ground from every country because that’s what’s interesting. That’s what makes Earth and people so special. That’s what we wanted to recreate on the face in a very artistic way. That’s why I’m using those brushes and I scrub them against each other so it becomes like a sparkle of a matte stardust.
