Tyler, The Creator’s Golf Wang fashion line will be making its runway debut at Made’s LA showcase.
Made LA, an event celebrating the connections between fashion, music, and art, will be headlined by renown designer Jeremy Scott’s Moschino and followed by Tyler, The Creator’s fashion line, Golf Wang. Tyler announced the event through his Instagram last week.
Fans of Tyler and the Odd Future crew know Golf Wang as a collection of simple pieces boasting vibrant color blocks, funky prints, and some borderline offensive designs (like this “Adolf Trump” shirt, for example.) Tyler has said that his creative inspiration comes from whatever it is that he likes to wear and just runs with it.
In an interview with Vogue.com, Tyler spoke of Made’s invitation to share Golf Wang in this special event. “I just figured, Why not? Why not do something different?” he said. “Not everybody in the upper fashion world is wearing all-black Saint Laurent pieces and is super pretentious. I want to show them a different world.”
Made LA will have a market-like setup with over thirty pop-up shops and shows featuring Jeremy Scott and Tyler, The Creator’s designs. Tickets are not yet available, but the event will take place at L.A. Live’s Event Deck Space on June 10 and 11.
