Your new favorite TREsemme hairstyles to get that Runway model look at home.
This NYFW we had the honor to go backstage to both the AREA and Christian Siriano shows to interview their lead hairstylists. We learned from the creative source themselves how to recreate these runway looks at home with featured TREsemmé products.
Lead stylist Mustafa Yanaz for the AREA show went the route of creating unconventional and stunning designs. Despite his busy schedule, we were able to get some time to learn about Mustafa’s inspiration behind the looks.

For Siriano’s show, we spoke to lead hairstylist Lacy Redway on the iconic Fairy Dusted Waves she created. Unlike Mustafa’s ‘lived-in’ look, this look is nothing you would see in a casual setting. The glitter is the key to this style and truly transforms the models into ethereal beings.
In Lacy’s own words, “We were inspired to create a light and ethereal look which pairs beautifully with the ‘dark fairy’ aesthetic of Christian’s collection. The TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse and Mega Control Gel are truly the stars of this look, setting the waves in place beautifully.”

How to Recreate Mustafa’s Looks
Slept In Slick Back

The Breakdown:
- On dry hair, separate the hair into two sections from the neck to the top of the head applying TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse root to tip to add shape and body.
- Let hair fully dry before brushing the hair back using your fingers from the front of your hairline to the back of your head.
- Apply an ample amount of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Weightless Perfecting Leave-In Lotion to create a ‘lived-in’ look.
Electric Pixie
Key Products Used:
The Breakdown:
- Prep dry hair with TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse to add grip.
- Using a blow dryer and flat brush, blow-dry all of the hair upwards, drying the mousse into the hair in the process.
- Once dry, use TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hairspray to lock the hair in place (without using a brush) keeping the strand’s organic placement.
- To finish the look, use a straightener on the tips of the hair to accentuate the spiky look.

The Breakdown:
- Step 1: Prep and strengthen dry natural hair with TRESemmé One Step 5-in-1 Blowout Cream to add hydration and TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Weightless Heat Protection Spray to protect from heat tools.
- Step 2: Using the TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse and a paddle brush, create an exaggerated side part (yes, they’re back!) starting at the arch of your eyebrow and blow-drying to finish.
- Step 3: Pull a chunky piece of hair from the front of your side part, apply the TRESemmé Mega Control Gel, and swoop the piece into an S-shaped wave over your forehead, opposite the part. Pin and dry the swoop in place.
- Step 4: Mix TRESemmé Mega Control Gel with large loose glitter in a separate dish and apply with a hair dye brush to the swooped piece of hair to create a ‘fairy dusted’ effect. Ensure you dry the glitter completely before moving forward.
- Step 5: Take a flat iron and thermal comb to the remaining sections of hair to smooth and straighten, tucking the hair opposite the swoop behind the ear.
- Step 6: Spray TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray to lock in the glitter and apply TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Weightless Silk Serum to the straightened sections of hair for added shine.
