The cutest pet couture runway made headlines for this year’s February NYFW by Anthony Rubio Designs!
From pups to canines, guests were in for a treat at Anthony Rubio’s ‘Dogs in Haute Couture’. All dogs [and kitty Winston] strutted the runway in matching designs of models debuting the hot collection. This season focused primarily on Fall/Winter Women’s Wear & Canine Couture featuring Men’s Wear. Each design was derived from personal and enjoyable experiences from travels and visits to museums, theater, and literature. “I took all that and created a collection to bring joy and an escape for just that time you are witnessing my creations on the runway,” Rubio says.
Deeply driven by his niche, Rubio believes that the ‘Pet Couturier’ is a precession of mixed art to bring attention to a man’s best friend [pets in this instance], whom he champions through advocacy for pet adoption. Each pet’s outfit designs are inspired by books from his childhood.
One notable pup who strutted the runway was Rubio’s adorable Chihuahua pup, Bogie! Spotted in an Arabian night ‘s-inspired lime green coat with glass stones and sequins, as worn by a prince or maharajah.
