From a wide range of fashion to energetic performances on the runway, The Model Experience Fashion Week Festival transformed the Los Angeles Convention Center on Sept. 30. Brands like Cough Syrup by Desto Dubbs took the stage, along with performances from Doechii and Kaliii, lighting the stage with an electrifying fusion of music and style.
The Model Experience festival was founded by Ashley Covarrubias to bring more model inclusivity into the industry, as mentioned in our interview with her that you can view here. The event was extremely interactive and open, creating a close and comfortable community. The list of unique and versatile designs that took the stage seemed endless, in the best way possible. In the midst of the festival performances from Doechii and Kaliii electrified the stage.
Kaliii kicked off the evenings performances with some of her biggest hits, “KToven” and “Area Codes”, followed up by Doechii who lit the stage up with her songs “Booty Drop,” “What It Is,” and “Persuasive”.
As each hour passed, another designer took center stage, showcasing models gracing their pieces down the runway. With upbeat music blazing from the DJ, chosen from the designers themselves, the experience was all-in-all enjoyable and immersive. The versatility in the designs added an extra layer of excitement to the event.
The festival also featured merchandise booths showcasing work various vendors and designers, followed by an after party off-site. Dive into more from this experience of The Model Experience here and check out our interviews right here.
