Music is that magical thing that is bringing us together in these difficult time.
B. Taylor has used this power of art to share a message of love and perseverance with his song “We are One, Love is All We Need.” More than just a Billboard-topping artist, Taylor’s main goal with his “We are One, Love is All We Need” project was to unite the country in a time of disparity.
During the pandemic, everyone felt suffering, and Taylor saw the need for something to bring us together. This gave him the idea to make “We are One, Love is All We Need” as a promotional video and song, collaborating with several artists and organizations passionate about the cause. For Taylor, there was no one more natural to lead this effort than the US military and its veterans.
As people who risked their lives for the safety of the American people, members of the armed forces have a bigger stake than any in uniting the American people under one cause. With a decorated military background himself, Taylor already had a profound connection to the military, making this project the perfect intersection between causes he is passionate about.
One of the things that inspired Taylor to write and release the song was his family’s triumph over COVID-19. His father, Reverend Taylor, was one of the first people in Nevada to be put on a ventilator due to it and was deathly ill for 10 months. His mother, a survivor of breast cancer, would get it just one month later due to her compromised immune system.
“I wanted to make my parents proud,” Taylor explains. “I didn’t know how much longer I would have with them, so I set out on this journey to give America what we needed at the time.”
Miraculously, Taylor’s parents recovered, and Taylor was able to play the song at Super Bowl LV in 2021 in Tampa on his dad’s birthday, February 7. “Not only was this the tribute I wanted to give to my parents and their perseverance,” Taylor says, “but it was a tribute to all of the hard work and dedication shown by the troops, veterans, first responders, and their families.” The Super Bowl provided him with the public platform he needed to spread this message of love and kindness.
Next up on Taylor plans to release the song as a national single featuring J. Michael Harter and Chapel Hart through his label Sony Music on Christmas Day. This will amplify the song and its message to an audience across the country, allowing him to share the love even further. In addition, Taylor will be producing a new video for the song that features added organizations, youth, and other professional sporting organizations, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Taylor also runs a nonprofit called L1fe Organization, which he established in 2016 to help active duty military, veterans, first responders, and their families innovate healthy and resilient lifestyles using proven wellness strategies. With this, the organization can help address and treat ailments that come with military service, such as PTSD, TBI, suicide, homeless, depression and anxiety, and post-growth.
This new music video remix and song will bring “We are One, Love is All We Need” to an even wider audience. The world needs more people like Taylor, who use their talents to spread a positive message and inspire as many people as possible. His hope is that, if people listen to the song’s message, we can be united more as a country and a people.
