Director Julius Onah’s debut film called “The Girl is In Trouble” is an excellent mystery thriller.
The film stars actors Wilmer Valderrama and Columbus Short. The ensemble is genius. August (played by Short) has a fling with an enigmatic woman named Signe (Alicja Bachleda-Curus). He then becomes entangled in an investigation surrounding a drug dealer’s (named Jesus) murder and a billionaire’s son, Nicholas. Angel (played by Valderrama) ventures to the Lower East Side to Nicholas’ home to avenge his cousin Jesus’ murder. All in all, the film is quite astounding. August’s narrative centers on being an immigrant in America. Watching his nitty gritty inner city trials and tribulations is what makes this film so unique and relatable to people everywhere.
