On September 4th The Knockturnal attended The Daily Front Row’s pre-FMA’s (Fashion Media Awards) NYFW kickoff cocktail party. The pre-NYFW party was at Spring Studios. Spring Studios was the former hub for New York Fashion Week. It is the perfect venue for hosting big events. It has multiple floors and massive rooms that are perfect for entertaining. Spring Studios or Spring Place. The bar and lounge on the sixth floor were a fabulous choice for this event. The massive room had floor-to-ceiling windows. You could see parts of the glowing New York City skyline. Through the windows. All throughout sunset. The warm tones of dusk reflected on the red and peach carpet perfectly.

Codigo 1530, Absolut Vodka, Kahlua and Pongo wine sponsored The Daily Front Row event. The featured cocktails were called, Absolut FMA Cosmo, Front Row Espresso Martini and Codigo 1530 Most Fashionable Margarita. The Absolut FMA Cosmo consisted of Absolut Citron, Triple Sec, lime juice and cranberry juice with a lemon twist. For the Front Row Espresso Martini they used Absolut Vodka and Kahlua, espresso and whole coffee beans. The Codigo 1530 Most Fashionable Margarita was made with Codigo 1530 Reposado Tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, salt rim and a lime wheel.

An hour or so into the night, there was a special performance by music newcomer Ana Sky. The FMA’s recently awarded Sky with the Emerging Artist award. Ana performed three of her new songs including her newly released single, Loving You is Hard. There was a single guitarist accompanying her. She wore a sparkled, chain link dress over a body suit and pvc high heeled boots.

Right after the performance, guests mingled by the square bar that was at the centered of the room. The guests shared and chat about their New York Fashion Week plans. People compared and discussed their busy schedules and invites. As one does. Continuously. It’s an unspoken tradition. Truly. It didn’t matter if you were the plus one or the VIP. It was a great night.
