Many nominees for this year graced the red carpet and shared what this opportunity meant for them and the importance to keep this momentum going. Some of theΒ Oscar nominees at the event include Mary Zophres, Diane Warren and Terence Blanchard.Β
Not only were guests socializing with the stars but attendees got to enjoy a full service bar, delicious appetizers, and stop by an impromptu haiku station were you could get a unique poem written just for you. Β
As the event reached its peak for the night The Wrap, CEO and founder, Sharon Waxman, raised a toast to all those nominated for awards this year and shared the importance of the night.
βWe are glad to see that this year there finally seems to be some movement towards greater inclusivity on filmβs most prestigious evening. With films like βBlack Pantherβ, βGreen Bookβ, βBlackkKlansmanβ, and βRomaβ nominated for Best Picture, the 2019 Academy Awards reflect a diversity of experience and artistry that we havenβt seen in years past. Regina King, Mahershala Ali, Yalitza Aparicio, these are faces and performances that are so important to have as part of our cultural legacy.β
This moment at Norah, was exactly what the heart of the Hollywood entertainment industry should always be about, The Wrap and WanderLuxxe foundersΒ Marti Hines and Lola Wood embraced that and carried it out perfectly with this pre-Oscars celebration.
