The all new “Saved By The Bell” reboot from Peacock stars the original cast as well as some new faces as we meet a brand new generation of Bayside High students, some from “overprivileged” families, and other from working-class families.
The two different worlds collide when California Governor Zack Morris transfers students from lower income neighborhoods nearby after his administration experiences controversy for closing too many low-income high schools. Among the new students, we meet the exuberant and bright eyed Daisy, played by the incredibly Haskiri Velazquez. Haskiri talks about the role she plays with great pride, seeing herself in this character that she portrays as the two come from similar upbringings. Throughout her time in the series, Daisy shows nothing but ambition on her road to becoming class president and showing her fellow classmates everything she is determined to accomplish. Haskiri takes on the part with grace and passion, showcasing her talent and dedication to bringing out who Daisy is.
We had the chance to sit down with Haskiri to talk all about the series, her audition process, and what it was like to adapt this series for all new modern day audiences. Check out the full conversation below!
