For his Spring/Summer 18 collection, Raun Larose played with dimension and proportions.
Raun’s wide cropped pant legs (some made of denim, some with a latex-like material), half, shoulder baring sweaters, and high sheer socks gave his audience quite an interesting show! All of the models stood upon an elevated platform, and rotated every few minutes, allowing the spectators to get a full on look at the clothes.
The dramatics of the clothing, the venue, and words, rather than music, blaring through the speakers were all key elements of the presentation. Some of the schoolboy/avant-garde 80’s stock broker looks were paired RL monogramed shirts, nerdy glasses, and slightly disheveled hair. The generally large silhouettes, which Raun also dabbled in with his last collection, seem to be here to stay.
Special thanks to AXE for the invite. As part of its continued partnership with the CFDA, AXE supported nine emerging designers at Skylight Clarkson Sq (550 Washington St.) by providing backstage grooming at their shows.
