On October 20, on the beautiful campus of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, several people gathered in there to enjoy the world of worship with several talented and moving gospel artists.
You could hear the articulate lyrics of Mike Teezy, the sultry smooth voice of Bri Babineaux, the riveting words of Sir the Baptist, the beautiful harmony of The Walls Group and the exciting and riveting experience of Anthony Brown and Group TherApy.
The host Lonnie Hunter kept the crowd engaged and moved throughout the night, even sharing his own testimony. He also allowed an opportunity for local talent to showcase their abilities to remix their renditions of McDonald’s popular theme jingle.
Within all this excitement, the true winners of the night were the highlighted families who have benefited from the Ronald McDonald House and foundation. The goal and use of this foundation is to provide shelter and a bit of ease for families who are going through tough and emotional times because of childhood illnesses that are present and make them have long hospital stays. Sometimes, families may not live close to visit and be there every day to support their little loves. With the help of Ronald McDonald House and foundation, these families can be close to their little loves and not have to concern themselves with long commutes.
What an amazing thing that McDonalds is doing to provide such opportunities. Next time you are asked to donate to this amazing cause when patronizing the establishment of Golden Arches, just remember your support can go a long way for a family not to have to travel a long way in such an emotional and sensitive time.
