What better way to prepare for the epic opening of the summer movie premiere of “Suicide Squad” than to listen to the Squad Anthem?

“Suicide Squad” is a highly anticipated movie produced by Warner Bros Pictures due to be released on August 5th, promising a film filled with thrilling villains and all the mayhem they cause in their intent to change the world for the worse. In anticipation of the movie’s release, “Sucker for Pain” was gifted to the public on June 24th to serve as a small appeasement to keep the eager impatience at bay. The song, featuring Lil’ Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Imagine Dragons, is deceptively smooth in its cadence as the renowned rappers and pop singers are filmed within what is presumed to be different parts of the movie, images of vicious dogs, harrowing cages, and white straitjackets making appearances throughout. Most interesting of all, the music video shows exclusive footage from the movie itself, flashes of Harley Quinn suspended upside down from a cage, Will Smith glaring ferociously into the camera, and the entire Squad swaggering casually through a flame-filled setting. The video has already grossed over four million views.

Another song from the soundtrack was also recently released on June 21st, this time headlining the popular Twenty One Pilots with their track “Heathens.” The song remained true to the Pilots’ style through its energy, angsty feeling, and mellowed hard rock vibe as the duo is filmed in the setting of the movie, handcuffed and suited as they sing. The video serves as yet another appetizer to the main event, once again featuring glimpses of scenes from the movie, from bursts of action-packed fight scenes to simple slow pans of Squad members in all their villainous glory, which practically forces the viewer to beg for more. “Heathens” has garnered over seventeen million views.

Needless to say, “Suicide Squad” is looking to be a huge blockbuster movie with a deliciously sinister plot, crazy cool characters, and all the right music to play in the background to the havoc that will ensue.
