The ready-to-wear brand honors the circle of life with an experiential presentation at Pier 59.
Rebecca Minkoff’s eponymous brand revealed its Spring/Summer collection this weekend, inspired by the theme of rebirth, as an extension of last season’s “working girl” concept. The touching showcase featured pregnant models, babies breastfeeding, and children playing on swings– all epitomizing the effortlessness and joy of the diversely wearable collection.
The stunning closet-ready looks highlighted the female form. From drop-waisted floral dresses, whimsical printed flowing blouses, and suede fringed jackets, Rebecca Minkoff updated spring staples while introducing a fresh take on the lightness of the season. An ombré set, adorned with hanging flowers, enhanced the extensive collection that ranged from nudes to pastels to hot pink and burnt orange.
“I wanted to design from our origins of a West meets East Coast sensibility, by integrating natural elements of the earth tones, floral patterns and silhouettes,” designer Minkoff said.
The showcase also marked the premiere of Little Minkoff, an eco-friendly kids clothing line. The unique structure of the children’s brand ensures that garment creation only begins after the placement of an order, which combats wasteful overstocking and labor. All Little Minkoff fabrics are also biodegradable, earth-friendly, and use 50% less water to produce. The collection fits a range of children’s sizes from age 4 to 12, and launches this month online.
Guests included Victoria Justice, Ava Michelle, Laura Dreyfuss, and Noor Tagouri, all donning Rebecca Minkoff pieces.
Standout looks included a frilled purple and yellow maxi dress, sweatshirts paired with slip hazy floral skirts, and rock ‘n roll meets coastal cool leather jackets over vintage prints.
This spring, Minkoff’s empowering collection and theme is one that truly resonates.
