Fresh from their performance at NYC’s Governor’s Ball music festival, THE KNOCKS came to SoulCycle to drop the beat in a LIVE DJ RIDE this past Thursday, June 9th, in their West Village studio.
The experience was truly a cardio party. At times, we weren’t sure if we were at spin class or a night club. With the lights turned down low and full DJ set up at the front, the only difference between a nightclub and the class was that the dance floor was covered in stationary bikes. The Live DJ sets vary from the standard SoulCycle experience because the instructor strays away from the tried and true playlist and adapts the class the to DJ set. While still incorporating the signature tap backs and arm movements, the spin session kept it interesting with constant change.
THE KNOCKS set featured an eclectic mix, ranging from with modern Drake, old school ABBA and of course some of their original music. Overall, we think this is a highly effective way to spice up your cardio routine especially if you are looking for a healthier alternative to going out.
