SIMPLY NYC: Vanessa Hudgens, Brittany Snow, and Catt Sadler Inspire

SIMPLY NYC took place Saturday, February 10th, 2018, at the height of New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

The daylong conference buzzed with the creative energy and like minds of fashion and beauty gurus alike. Women from around the world filled the ROOT NYC Studios, eager to glean from this educational, uplifting, and empowering event.

SIMPLY, the brainchild of Sarah Boyd, offered its aspiring guests a comprehensive fashion and beauty program that included access to the industry’s top innovators, enlightening keynote speakers, and incredible brand activations. All of which were part of the eye-popping interactive urban jungle theme. The SIMPLY NYC Fashion & Beauty Conference Powered by Nylon partnered with actress Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect) and her anti-bullying charity, Love is Louder, to create this event that allowed hundreds of aspiring women looking to break into the industry access to notable like-minded professionals.

The amazing and informative panels featured the talents of Vanessa Hudgens, Brittany Snow, Bethany Mota, Wendy Nguyen, celebrity hair stylist Chaz Dean, Sarah Boyd, Nylon editor-in-chief Gabrielle Korn, and the inspiring former anchor of E! News Catt Sadler. Many other influencers and guest speakers were present, including Nina Agdal, Sophia Miacova, Nastia Liukin, model Denise Bidot, The Zoe Report’s editorial director Nicky Deam, and Socialyte’s Beca Alexander.

In addition to the panels, aspiring fashionistas had many interactive brand activations and full-sized product samples to enjoy. Personalized flower crowns were made by WEN Hair and Body Care by Chaz Dean. After creating a crown, guests received a mini photoshoot with a professional photographer and the high-quality pictures were sent via text directly to their phones. Talk about a perfectly Instagrammable moment! The Glam App was on-site, providing colorful manicures, while hair touch-ups with OGX had everyone camera-ready. The hottest upcoming spring shoes by Marc Fisher were available for display and there were discount codes for all. Other highlights included appearances by brands like Luxe Catch, Rodial, and YouCam Makeup. As if that wasn’t enough, Bethany Mota interacted with the guest at a meet-and-greet for her book Make Your Mind Up. The Love is Louder community shared the positive message of love and acceptance to all by showing guests how to utilize the power of social media for good.

Even though SIMPLY NYC was an all-day event, guests had no need to step out or risk getting hangry. A breakfast delivery from Daily Harvest and Peet’s cold brew coffee station perked everyone up at the start of the day. A lunch spread by minigrow arrived midday. There were a host of other drinks and snacks, such as acai-infused Red Bull energy drinks, Peroni beer, flavored sangria, Health-Ade Kombucha drinks, sweet and savory bites from Brownie Brittle, Cookie Pop and Pasta Chips Bow Tie snacks, Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate covered strawberries, and Lenny & Larry’s cookies, keeping everyone hydrated and fed all day long.

At the end of the day guests left with a smile on their faces and a little more light in their hearts.
