Seth Macfarlane released his new album “No One Ever Tells You” to all digital retailers Sept. 30.
The album is Macfarlane’s third he’s released while also working as an actor, writer, producer and director. This album is made up of covers form songs of the mid-’50s to ’60s. The tunes include the popular, “A Ship Without A Sail” by Rodgers and Hart as well as lesser known ones such as Henry Mancini’s “Don’t Call it Love.”
“During this period, songs set out to really tell a story: not just with the lyrics and the vocal, but with the arrangement ands and orchestral interpretations,” said Macfarlane in a statement. “The songs on the record attempt to do just that.”
Macfarlane reunited with producer, composer and arranger Joel McNeely for the album. McNeely said that they sought out musicians that would truly give an authentic jazz sound to the album. The player’s “understanding of the required extra vibrato, copious dramatic slides and bends brings a stylistic realism to the orchestra almost impossible to achieve these days,” McNeely said.
The dedication and creativity, as well as the top spot on the iTunes chart point towards a promising album.
The album will be available at all retailers on Oct. 30. The track list is as follows.
