Season 2 Premiere of Starz’ “Blindspotting”

The Knockturnal attended the Season 2 premiere of Starz’ Blindspotting on April 11th, held at Neuehouse in Los Angeles.

Prior to the screening, we spoke to cast members Andrew Chappelle, Lance Holloway, Candace Nicholas-Lippman, Jaylen Barron, and Atticus Woodward, along with choreographer Jon Boogz. The stars discussed character development, important takeaways, and anticipated shifts in season 2, highlighting the elevated drama and continued genre-bending, rule-breaking story aesthetics of the acclaimed series.

Creators Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal chose to air episode 1 and episode 3 in order to honor Jess Wu Calder’s directorial debut in the 3rd episode, a momentous testament to her longtime work on the series.

Following the screening, cast and crew members participated in a Q&A moderated by LeVar Burton, who also plays Earl’s dad in season 2. Afterwards, guests indulged in themed cocktails and appetizers inspired by the Bay Area.

Blindspotting tackles topics of incarceration, the American prison system, and its impact on families — all through spoken poetry, dance, humor, and heart, with an emphasis on authentically and vibrantly portraying Oakland.

Watch Season 2 of Blindspotting on Starz, with new episodes airing every Friday!
