“Individually our 2016 products offer the pinnacle of performance.”

Number one TV manufacturer worldwide, Samsung Electronics Co. recently unveiled its new lineup of SUHD TVs at the Samsung 837 space in the meatpacking district.

Samsung’s 2016 SUHD TV

The new SUHD TV’s are the world’s first bezel-less curved design that makes the image beautiful at any angle and the smartest user experience that makes entertainment content easily accessible for consumers. The TV’s also offer unparalleled picture quality with Quantum dot display and includes loT hub technology that allows the TV itself to act as the controller for the entire smart home.

“Our new SUHD TVs represent our singular focus on innovation that matters most to consumers, by providing the very best picture quality for the home,” said Hyun Suk Kim, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “In 2016, we’re going beyond anything we’ve done before to offer a remarkable synergy of design, engineering and craftsmanship.”

The Tizen operating system that these TV’s are built on now makes it easier for consumers to discover and access their favorite content and services all in one place. These cool features include a new Smart Hub to provide users with simple accesses to their content, a Smart Control remote that helps eliminate the need for multiple remote controls and automatically recognizes the type of system connected to the TV, console-less gaming, a EXTRA button on the Smart Control that will allow users to see player profiles and stats during sporting events and look up information on the cast members from their favorite show. The TV also includes the Smart View app that allows users to share their favorite content with their family and enable more access to Amazon, M-Go, Netflix and YouTube.

“At Samsung we’re committed to creating television as it can be and as it should be. Samsung TVs are an extension of our commitment that technology should be so ingenious and so intuitive that it becomes effortless and essential. That’s why at Samsung we don’t innovate just for the sake of it we create meaningful innovation that changes how consumers expect products to preform,” said Dave Das, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics America.

“Beautiful, smart, fun, simple and powerful this is why our 2016 line up is the smartest Samsung series we’ve ever produced,” he continued.

As if the hot new TVs weren’t enough Samsung also unveiled its first Ultra HD Blu-ray Player, the UBD-K8500. The Blu-ray player features a sleek, curved front design and is HDR compatible. It even offers four times the resolution and 64 times detailed color expression of a conventional Blu-ray player. When paired with the new SUHD TV’s Quantum dot display the UHD Blu-ray player displays a picture quality never before seen in the home. This spectacular Blu-ray player is now available for purchase around the U.S.

After learning all about the TV, guests were treated to a performance by Charlie Puth. Despite having a sore throat he gave it his all. Perched at a piano he sang, “See You Again,” “Marvin Gaye,” “One Call Away” and “Suffer.” His dad was in attendance, too!
