Leave it the Europeans to set the New York nightlife scene on fire with EDM. Vegas-favorite and Ibiza habitué Robin Schulz performed at Marquee last Friday night and delighted the fashionable New York crowd with his remixes of pop and dance songs.
His set was as diverse as the city he was playing in: from “Mi Gente” to “Let Me Love You” to his most famous hits like “Prayer in C” and “OK,” the tunes seamlessly transitioned for the delight of reveling concert goers. Known as one of the most exclusive and elite nightclubs of the city, Marquee didn’t disappoint: games of lights and smoke punctuated the music and added just enough drama to make the millennial-heavy crowd go loco.
After only three years since his first single came out, Schulz, who boasts 9 digit streams, is now in the number one German artist internationally. From music festivals such as Tomorrowland or Ultra to uber-famous clubs such as Pacha and Ushuaia, Schulz played alongside some of the biggest names of the industry and in front of hundreds of thousands of people. All this fame doesn’t seem to have affected the DJ: his signature look (backwards baseball caps and dark sunglasses), his close circle and his goals didn’t change. And showing the world that with music everything is possible, is exactly what Schulz seems to be doing.
