This past Thursday, I attended the RA_Bar Beauty Salon’s RA_Chella Media Event in West Hollywood, California. The salon is SO cute, and the stylists really know their stuff! They provided bloggers alike with braids, blowouts, makeup touch-ups, eyelash extensions, organic spray tans…all while providing champagne and mimosas. Can I get an amen?
The name is pronounced RA (rah), referring to the ancient god of the sun. They strive wholeheartedly to embody the same light, energy, and warmth as he does. The owners believe that beauty isn’t just about looks. It’s about radiating all the characteristics of the brilliant sun which they aim to live by.
It can also be pronounced raw, referring to the raw-organic oils they use to treat hair and scalp issues and the general feeling of who they are as people.
RA has created all-natural, super-healing oils from select fruits and nuts that they make into custom conditioning treatments for each individual clients’ needs – wow! So they have taken organic home hair remedies and deepened the process. Amazing.
I received a beautiful 80’s inspired braid with curly pieces out around my face done by the lovely Whitney Colleen, who is one of the owners of RA.
She’s been a top celebrity and fashion hair stylist for over 10 years and was voted one of the “The Three Best Stylists Who Will Make You Look Fab” by Haute Living Magazine. She described her approach as simple. Create hair cuts that grow out gracefully, are precise, chic and beautiful, while making her clients look young, vibrant and feel great. She kept stressing to me that she wanted me to LOVE my braid and feel beautiful. What an amazing gal!
