This week’s episode of Powerbook II: Ghost held nothing back as every character tested their own limits. That is because with the trial coming up very soon, there is zero time to be wasted anymore as it is running thin.
The first example of that is Dru. The opening of the episode put him in a situation that he can no longer come back from thanks to Lorenzo. He is really trying to toughen Dru up and it is showing during their scenes together and with Dru’s boyfriend. Dru was showcased a lot here and not even his mom Monet could intimidate him anymore.
Another plot point that caught my interest is revolving around Rashad obtaining the photo so he can use it for blackmail against Brayden’s family. In the world of politics, this happens. Especially when it is a photo of someone that has blackface on from decades ago. I am intrigued on where this could go once the photo is released. That is, if Tariq could give it to Rashad in time!Speaking of Tariq, Saxe really wanted Tariq to take that plea deal so quickly. I am glad that he turned it down because he might have a chance fighting this. As long as the money comes in for Davis, he will keep his mouth closed. Tariq needs to figure out fast how he will pay Davis now that Lorenzo and Mecca have announced a new deal over the product. There is something about Money in the Power universe that keeps the world going! Something else I will pay close attention to, is Davis and Carrie as she is now on his radar. And finally, I have a feeling that there will be a point that Rashad and Carrie will be together.
In this week’s Powerbook II: Ghost, I wish a scene could have been done differently with Zeke and Mecca. That is something that could have been more built up instead of happening the way it did. It was not believable in my eyes on how Mecca revealed that news to his son.
Overall, a really great episode!
