STARZ is getting ready to close out one of the most intense chapters in its Power Universe with Powwer Book III: Raising Kanan’s final season.
On February 27, 2026, the network released a teaser trailer and first-look photos for the fifth and final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The last season premieres Friday, June 12, with new episodes dropping weekly on Fridays on the STARZ app and across all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
Over the past four seasons, Kanan Stark, played by Mekai Curtis, has gone from a young man eager to step into his mother’s empire to someone determined to build his own legacy at any cost. What started as admiration for his mother Raq quickly turned into something much darker once he uncovered the secrets she had been hiding. Betrayal, ambition, and a fight for independence have shaped his journey, forcing Kanan to confront who he really is. By the end of last season, he was no longer living in anyone’s shadow. He was fully stepping into himself, even if that meant holding his own family accountable.
The numbers show just how strong the series has been. Season four averaged 8 million multiplatform viewers per episode, and the show has racked up more than 21 billion minutes viewed across all episodes. It remains one of STARZ’s top performing series.
Now, Season Five promises to push everything even further. Kanan’s ruthlessness is no longer simmering under the surface. He knows exactly who he is and what he wants. Teaming up with Southside legend Breeze, played by Shameik Moore, Kanan locks in his place within the Queens drug trade. Their alliance sets off a chain reaction that will impact everyone involved. The Thomas family faces the possible collapse of their reign, Unique, played by Joey Bada$$, is fighting to protect his legacy, and the Mafia continues making quiet moves behind the scenes. Sacrifices are coming, and no one is safe.
Even though this is the final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the larger Power Universe is far from over. The franchise, which began with the original Power, continues to expand. Power Book III: Raising Kanan is the second spinoff in the growing lineup, and another chapter titled Power Origins is also in the works, signaling that there are still more stories to tell.
Season Five is led by creator and showrunner Sascha Penn. The Power Universe is executive produced by original series creator Courtney A. Kemp through End of Episode, alongside Curtis 50 Cent Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Canton Entertainment. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television for Starz.
