We were at the launch of Pink Taco‘s newest location located in the bustling Time Square. Tourists and locals will have a new spot to enjoy the coined “damn good tacos” and tasty cocktails.
Their NYC launch showcased ice sculptures where guests could enjoy a chilled shot of tequila after having a skull-faced shot glass engraved with their name. While guests waited for their engraved shot glasses, skeleton body-painted dancers offered entertainment where guests and curious on-lookers stared in awe or perhaps a bit of shock.
A disco ball skull greets you upon entry, where the decor is pink as ever, and their curated playlists get you dancing toward the bar. The pink carpeted stairs lead visitors to the second floor, where additional seating is available along with another bar.
Large butterflies hang from the ceiling, and lounge chairs in their signature pink adorn the space. A perfect place to sit down, order a cocktail and snap a photo for your socials. Whether a shot of tequila or a signature cocktail, there is something for everyone to be had.
One of their popular cocktails is the Something Pink, containing Jimador tequila, prickly pear puree, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar served in a skull face pint glass and salted rim. One of our favorites was the Cock Fight containing Cazadores silver tequila with muddled tangerines, cucumbers, and fresh lime juice garnished with a cucumber slice served in a rocks glass. Be sure to try a fan-favorite, the Big Barbacoa Burrito. It sure lives up to its name, so be sure to bring a friend to partake in all there is to eat.
Chef Carlos, who flew in from their location in California, chatted with us briefly. The team came together to carefully curate the items on the menu. It proved a success as all guests at their launch party seemed to enjoy all there was to offer.
We certainly enjoyed the Lobster Enchiladas comprised of lobster, of course, jack cheese, lobster cream sauce, avocado salsa, Mexican cream, and pickled red onions. Before Chef Carlos continued making his rounds in the kitchen, he told us to not leave without trying the Tres Leches Churro dessert, which is as delicious tasting as it is pretty, garnished with an edible flower. We totally recommend it!
With locations in Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, and Washington D.C., its NYC location will surely add to the passion and flavor they have provided since 1999.
Located at 7 Times Square, guests may join for late-night eats til 2am, a hangover brunch on the weekends from 10am-3pm, and happy hour every day from 3pm-6pm.
