This story takes place forty years in the future in Berlin. The East is fighting with the West. Immigrants are flocking to the city as violence heightens.
Wait. Shouldn’t it be forty years ago? And why are immigrants moving there when it’s violent?
Alright, it’s a science fiction movie by Duncan Jones starring Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard. Skarsgard will be playing Leo Beiler, a mute bartender in Berlin while all this fighting is happening. He’s looking for his woman friend who disappeared and he encounters a couple of American surgeons (Rudd’s character as the lead) on the way, and Beiler can’t tell if he should trust them or not.
Based on the script written and directed by Duncan Jones (who also wrote and directed Moon and Warcraft), the film was in the works for almost twelve years as Jones was working on other projects, including the game adaptation of Warcraft. The film will be produced by Stuart Fenegan through Liberty Films. The script was based off of another script by Jones and Mike Johnson. Filming will begin in March as Jones winds down with Warcraft, which is set to release in June.
