Variety and Women in Film join forces to uphold and commemorate women revolutionizing television with a vibrant pre-Emmy party!
Variety in partnership with Women in Film continued their annual celebration of Emmy Television Nominees this past weekend with an extravagant party at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood. Specifically, this event highlights the achievements and performances women have made within the television industry.
“Women in Film is about women working in all of the screen industries and our goal is to achieve parity. So, we want 50/50; behind the camera, in front of the camera, and that’s what we’re working towards. And we empower women in this industry to speak up, tell their stories, and we’re gonna help you get work!” says Kirsten Schaffer, Executive Director of Women in Film, when The Knockturnal asked what Women in Film meant to her.
The words of Kirsten rang true Saturday night as Hollywood’s biggest stars attended the event, among the guests, were both Emmy nominated and powerhouse influencers within the industry. During the grandiose red carpet entrances, A-listers awed those at the event as their pictures were taken. Within moments they joined the party to celebrate women in the industry, and to pave the way for the unsung artists yet to come.
As guests entered the outdoor setup they were immersed in a music-filled night along with an open bar, serving drinks all night thanks to Heineken, one of the official sponsors of the event. Stars were also entranced by Cadillac’s display of one of their latest vibrant cars that many celebs stopped by to capture a picture. One of the highlights of the night was Troye Sivan performing the set of his album’s latest hits “My My My!” and “Bloom”. The festivities continued inside the venue as party-goers danced inside and mingled with other talents.
The guest list at this pre-Emmy party presented by Beautycounter consisted of some of television’s most beloved stars such as; Sarah Paulson, Laverne Cox, Constance Wu, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Caitlyn Jenner, Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Jenna Dewan, Jackie Cruz, and others. Many of the famous bunch at the party went on to win an Emmy at the actual awards show; Darren Criss, Samira Wiley, RuPaul, Tiffany Haddish, and Adina Porter finished the party filled weekend as Emmy winners.
The Variety and Women in Film party was the perfect way to continue the Emmy weekend celebrations!
