The last drops of summer were sipped at John Varvatos Bowery with the launch of Nick Jonas x John Varvatos premium Villa One tequila, an ode to “life as it should be.”
The seductive soirée began at the vintage rock poster-clad John Varvatos store underneath a grand black-coated chandelier. Bartenders served up specialty Villa One cocktails like the Mezzin’ Around, featuring Villa One Reposado, mezcal, grapefruit juice, and soda.
Villa One launches nationally next month
The tequila launch was inspired by Jonas and Varvatos’ trip to Mexico in 2018; the duo later partnered with master distiller Arturo Fuentes at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos and Stoli Group to craft the liquor. Launching this September, Villa One will be available in Silver, Reposado, and Anejo.
“Over a couple of years, we developed a foundation to building something we were proud of,” Jonas said, explaining his friendship and collaborations with designer Varvatos. ” ‘Life as it should be’ is where we are right now. The people you love, the experiences that mean the most in life where you can just take a step back from the crazy and just be appreciative of a few things. It’s simple: a good drink in your hand, people you love around you, and making memories that will last a lifetime.”
Jonas, who had just wrapped a Madison Square Garden Jonas Brothers performance, introduced the crowd to his brothers, Joe and Kevin, who also were in the audience. Jonas thanked his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra, as she cheered on with love and pride.
“I couldn’t be happier to spend this night with you and celebrate our friendship,” Varvatos toasted to Nick on stage as shots of Villa One were passed to the audience.
Swizz Beatz performs
Legendary artist Swizz Beatz spun a DJ set featuring Biggie Smalls, Snoop Dogg, and Drake. “Don’t let your phone have more fun than you at the party,” Beatz bellowed. The party reached full swing around 1am as Chopra danced to “Despacito” and sister-in-law actress Sophie Turner joked with husband Joe Jonas.

VIPs like Joyce Varvatos, Gina Gershon, Eric Rutherford, Eric Goode, and tattoo artist JonBoy partied in an elevated stage section, and guests indulged in lobster grilled cheese, “no beef” sliders, and caramelized brussels sprouts from the Made From Scratch food truck outside.
With good vibes and smooth tequila, the night was exactly as how life should be.
